Where art meets inner nature

Soul water x La Nave Salinas

Our founding philosophy rests on a fundamental belief: everyday choices matter, materials have real-world consequences, and even the simplest everyday ritual can carry profound care for people, places, and the natural world.

When we look beyond the world of circular design and turn toward global culture, we occasionally encounter moments where art, nature, and philosophy converge with remarkable clarity. One such moment is currently taking place at Fundación La Nave Salinas in Ibiza with Naturaleza Interior (Inner Nature), a major solo exhibition by the renowned Colombian painter Carlos Jacanamijoy.

While a contemporary art space in the salt flats of Ibiza and a circular hydration brand may seem worlds apart at first glance, a deeper look reveals a shared world view, a philosophy rooted in reverence for nature, conscious living, and a deep respect for our place within the ecosystem.

Nature is not an object; it contains us

In traditional Western art and consumer culture, nature has often been treated as an object: a landscape to be viewed from a distance or a resource to be extracted, packaged, and discarded.

Carlos Jacanamijoy, an indigenous Inga artist from the Putumayo region of the Colombian Amazon, completely dismantles this perspective. In Naturaleza Interior, Jacanamijoy’s vibrant canvases merge water, foliage, celestial light, and memory into fluid fields of colour. In his vision, nature is not something standing before us as an object of contemplation; nature contains us. We do not observe the natural world from the outside; we inhabit it, and it inhabits us.

This distinction transforms how we look at the world, and it sits at the very heart of Soul Water’s existence. For decades, single-use throwaway culture treated water as a quick commodity and packaging as temporary trash, ignoring the long-term impact on the ecosystems that sustain us. Soul Water was born to challenge that mindset. When you recognise that humanity is fundamentally inseparable from nature, protecting our oceans, rivers, and soil through endlessly recyclable materials isn’t just an environmental initiative; it is an act of self-preservation and respect.

Respect for place, purity, and purpose

Location and environment carry deep memory. Fundación La Nave Salinas itself embodies this principle. Set within a transformed 1941 salt warehouse inside the protected natural park of Ses Salines in Ibiza, the foundation brings museum-quality contemporary art to the island while honouring the history and natural beauty of its surrounding salt flats.

This deep sense of place connects effortlessly with both Jacanamijoy’s practice and Soul Water’s mission:

  • The sacred element of water: Water is a recurring, vital motif in Jacanamijoy’s cosmic paintings, representing flow, spirit, memory, and life. At Soul Water, we treat natural mineral water with the same quiet reverence, preserving its natural purity in packaging designed to keep it fresh without leaving a trace of plastic waste behind.
  • Intention over excess: Fundación La Nave Salinas curates exhibitions with deep artistic purpose rather than superficial noise. Similarly, Soul Water focuses on minimalist, intentional design, pairing clean mineral water with circular aluminium bottles and cans that elevate daily routines through simplicity and care.
  • Giving back to the whole: Whether it is an art foundation offering free cultural access to its community, an artist honouring indigenous wisdom, or a brand creating infinitely recyclable packaging to eliminate waste, all three movements stem from a desire to give more than we take.

Cultivating consciousness: the shift toward mindful living

Naturaleza Interior invites visitors to pause, step inside the canvas, and reflect on their connection to the living earth. It reminds us that culture, spirituality, and ecology are deeply intertwined.

At Soul Water, we believe that true sustainability begins with this exact shift in consciousness. When we change how we perceive our environment, our everyday actions naturally follow. Choosing circular design, supporting transformative art, and honouring the natural world are all steps toward the same goal: living with greater awareness and care.

Through art, conversation, and daily choices, we continue to celebrate those who stay curious, stay inspired, and protect the world that contains us all.
